Offer Description: The selected candidate will be part of the Bio-LUSH Horizon project, contributing to the utilization of underexploited biomass feedstocks for sustainable and high-quality fiber extraction. The focus will be on establishing innovative processes for optimal biomass refining and fibrillation to nanoscale, converting sustainable fibers into functional biobased materials, including edible films and packaging.

  • Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
  • Skills/Qualifications: Seeking an outstanding experimental physicist or physical chemist at the MSc level with expertise in material science, soft condensed matter physics, colloids, and mechanical properties of soft materials. Experience in characterization methods, mechanical characterization, and light scattering techniques is highly desirable. Modelling expertise using Phyton and Matlab is an advantage. A self-motivated candidate with excellent communication and organizational skills is preferred.

Specific Requirements:

  • Less than 4 years full-time research experience and not have a doctoral degree
  • Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the last 36 months.

Languages:

  • English (Excellent level – IELTS min. 7 or TOEFL internet-based min. 90 or similar level as determined by other tests)
