On April 23, 2024, the Charlemagne building in Brussels welcomed over 500 participants for the CBE JU Info Day 2024. This hybrid event, attended in person and streamed online, provided key insights into the CBE JU 2024 call for project proposals. Among the attendees was our own Vladimir Mrkajic, representing InoSens, who seized the opportunity to promote our latest CBE JU-funded project, Bio-LUSH.

Event Highlights & Agenda

The Info Day kicked off with an introductory message from Nicoló Giacomuzzi-Moore, setting the stage for a day of learning and collaboration. Insights from John Bell on bio-based innovation underscored the sector’s role in driving green competitiveness, while Rob Beekers emphasized the importance of development in R&D for circular bioeconomy strategies. Detailed presentations followed, shedding light on the CBE JU 2024 Work Programme and the scope of its call topics. Experts provided actionable advice on crafting strong proposals, navigating submission processes, and learning from past projects.

The Q&A session offered a unique platform for attendees to interact directly with CBE JU officials, addressing questions and clarifying requirements. Meanwhile, the afternoon’s one-on-one networking sessions fostered meaningful connections between attendees, opening doors for collaboration and partnerships within the bio-based economy sector.

Networking & Collaboration

The afternoon was dedicated to one-on-one networking meetings, allowing participants to connect with European Commission representatives, CBE JU staff, National Contact Points, and other potential collaborators. This networking session, available both in-person and online, provided an invaluable opportunity for building partnerships and exploring new avenues for innovation in Europe’s bio-based economy.

This provided an excellent opportunity for Vladimir to deepen his insights into the CBE JU process but also a platform for him to further promote Bio-LUSH, one of the first CBE JU funded projects. Bio-LUSH exemplifies innovation in biomaterials, showcasing how CBE JU funding accelerates impactful, sustainable solutions.
